The Dornier Do R Superwal was an evolution of the DoJ Wal, which Dornier had been manufacturing in Italy since 1922. The first Superwal flew on 30 September 1926; a total of 19 were built. Almost all Superwals were used in civil aviation. Source: Wikipedia
