Dornier Do 31

The Dornier Do 31 was a German vertical take-off cargo aircraft. The aircraft takes off vertically using eight lift engines and two cruise engines equipped with swivelling thrust nozzles. In addition, there is a control nozzle at the rear that can blow upwards or downwards. In horizontal flight, the two cruise engines are used.In 1969, the E-3 flew from Oberpfaffenhofen , near Munich , to the Aerosalon in Paris , where five new world records were set for vertical take-off aircraft; including the highest speed to date of 514 km/h, achieved by pilot Drury W.
