Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet

The Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet is a light attack jet and advanced trainer jointly produced by France's Dassault Aviation and Germany's Dornier Flugzeugwerke. It was developed specifically to perform training and light attack missions, as well as to perform these tasks more efficiently than the first generation of jet trainers that preceded it. Following a competition, a design submitted by a team consisting of Breguet Aviation, Dassault Aviation and Dornier Flugzeugwerke was selected, initially named TA501, and subsequently produced as the Alpha Jet.
